What is the EOC?

The Educational Opportunity Center is a federally funded TRiO Program designed to provide information on college admissions, GED programs, and financial aid options to residents of Surry, Yadkin, Stokes, Rockingham, and Davie counties. Hosted by Surry Community College, the EOC promotes educational opportunities for any area college, university, or technical school.

What can the EOC do for me?

  • The EOC can refer you to GED and Adult High School Diploma programs if you have not completed your high school education.

  • Assist you with exploring and gathering information about potential colleges and universities.

  • Help you with the career decision making process.

  • Provide you with information about funding your education.

  • Assist you with completing admission and financial aid applications.

  • Get you in touch with college admissions and financial aid professionals at potential schools.

  • Be there to offer you support along the way until you receive your college degree.

How much do services cost?

The services provided by the EOC are funded by a federal TRiO grant and are provided at NO cost to program participants.

How do I get started?

The first step is to make an appointment with an EOC Coordinator in your area. He or she will discuss the EOC program and develop a plan of action to meet your needs.
